Which room is it in?
Bathrooms, doors and windows near the floor have to have safety glass. That changes the glass we order, so it’s the first thing we check.
Is the frame timber or aluminium?
Timber takes longer because the old putty has to come out and the frame gets re-bedded. Aluminium is quicker.
How big is the pane, roughly?
Even a rough width and height is enough to quote. We measure it properly before anything gets cut.
Is it cracked, smashed, or just foggy?
Smashed means we come today and close it up. Cracked can wait a day or two. Foggy between two layers means a sealed unit, not a plain pane.

Do you need to visit to give me a price?
Not usually. Two photos and rough sizes will do it. Large or unusual windows we measure first.
How soon can a smashed window be closed up?
Same day. We board it or fit clear sheeting so the house is secure that night.
Does a bathroom window need special glass?
Yes. Bathrooms, doors, panels beside doors and low windows all need safety glass.
My window handle spins and nothing happens. Is that expensive?
No. The gears in the winder have stripped, and it’s a cheap part to swap.
Can you look at other windows while you’re here?
Yes, and it saves a second call-out. Point them out when we arrive.
Why is my double glazing cloudy inside?
The seal has failed. We replace that glass unit and leave your frame alone.
Do you work weekends?
