Amrah Glass & Aluminium repairs and replaces broken window glass across Vineyard, covering older acreage homes, sheds and stables as well as the new estate houses going up around the precinct. We cut and fit glass to AS 1288, secure any opening we can’t finish the same day, and give you a fixed price before we start.

Vineyard is changing fast, and the window work here splits neatly into two groups.
Older acreage properties usually have timber or early aluminium frames, thinner glass and outbuildings that get knocked about. Sheds, stables, tack rooms and granny flats all have windows that need attention eventually.
New estate homes have much larger panes, sliding stackers and energy-rated glass. The glass is modern, but bigger panes cost more to replace and often need two installers to lift safely.
We work on both, and the approach is different for each. On an older home we check whether the frame can still take new glass. On a new build we focus on matching the exact glass specification the builder used.
If your home is new, don’t book a repair before checking a couple of things.
During construction, broken or badly scratched glass is usually the builder’s responsibility. Raise it with your site supervisor before handover and get it in writing.
After handover, new homes in NSW come with statutory warranty periods. If a pane cracks with no impact, or a sliding window won’t seal properly, that may be a defect for the builder to fix rather than something you pay for.
Once you’re past that, or if the damage is clearly accidental, we can sort it out quickly. We can also quote in writing if your builder asks for a comparison.
Scratching from render, concrete splatter, tape residue or careless cleaning is common on new homes. What’s possible depends on the damage:
Send a close-up photo and a photo taken from a few metres back. That tells us how visible the damage really is.
The Hawkesbury cops some serious weather. Summer storms roll in from the west with hail and strong gusts, and on open blocks there’s little to slow them down. After a storm we see:
If a window has just broken, how to handle broken glass safely at home covers what to do until we arrive.
Parts of Vineyard and the surrounding rural land are mapped as bushfire prone. If your property is, the glass in your windows may have to meet AS 3959 for your bushfire attack level, which generally means toughened glass and compliant screens on exposed elevations.
This matters when you’re replacing a pane. Fitting plain glass where the build required toughened can create a compliance problem later, particularly at sale time. Tell us if your home was built to a BAL rating and we’ll match what’s required. If you’re not sure, your building certificate or bushfire assessment will list it.
New glass is needed when a pane is cracked, shattered, deeply scratched, fogged between double-glazed panes, or doesn’t meet the safety glass rules for its location.
Repair without new glass works when the pane is sound but the window leaks, rattles, sticks or won’t lock. That usually means new rubbers, fresh sealant, replacement beading, or work on rollers and catches.
Frame replacement is only worth it when the frame is rusted, bent or badly out of square, which we mostly see on older sheds and weatherboard homes.
Our page on which glass suits each room goes through the options in more detail.
Outbuildings get left until last, but broken glass in a shed is still a hazard, especially around horses, dogs and kids. We replace glass in shed and stable windows, granny flats, studios and converted garages, provided the frame is sound enough to hold it. Toughened or laminated glass is often the better choice in these spots because it handles knocks far better than plain glass.
We’re across the northwest regularly, including the growing estates at Marsden Park and just down the line in Schofields. Most standard panes are fitted the same day or the next morning. Toughened, laminated and oversized glass is cut to order and usually takes one to three business days, with the opening secured in the meantime.
A few things speed up the visit:
We also cover the Blacktown side of the growth area, including glass work over at Acacia Gardens.
From that we can usually give a fixed price without attending first.

Can you replace glass in a shed or stable window?
Yes, as long as the frame is still sound. If it’s rusted or bent, we’ll quote the frame work separately.
My new home’s window cracked on its own. Who pays?
It may be a builder defect covered by statutory warranty. Raise it with your builder before booking a paid repair.
Can scratches from render be polished out?
Light surface scratches often can. Deeper scratches, or damage on coated glass, usually mean the pane needs replacing.
Does my home need toughened glass because of bushfire rules?
If the property is on bushfire-prone land, the required glass depends on its bushfire attack level. Check your building certificate and let us know.
How long does a large stacker pane take?
Oversized and toughened glass is made to order, normally within a few business days. We secure the opening until it arrives.
Can you find my address in a new estate?
Yes. Just let us know if the street is new or the lot number differs from the street number, and we’ll confirm before heading out.
Which areas near Vineyard do you cover?
Riverstone, Schofields, Box Hill, Windsor, McGraths Hill, Mulgrave, Oakville, Maraylya, Rouse Hill and the wider Hawkesbury and Blacktown areas.
